Accessible Parking:

-General Galleria mall parking is accessible and located near the entrances.

-The Galleria provides several van accessible spots near each entrance.

-There are no automatic doors at the Galleria, visitors must open the doors manually.

 

Drop-off/Pick-up Areas:

-There is a drop-off area located directly in front of entrance with curb cut for accessibility to the sidewalk

 

Accessible Entrances and Circulation:

-Movie theater is located near the food court and is accessible by elevator, however the Galleria is not easy to navigate and there are few maps located throughout. There are no signs specifically designed to direct persons to the theater.

-There is a ramp from the upper level to the theaters but it steeper than recommended. See picture below.

 

Concessions and Ticket Stand:

-Ticket stand is at an appropriate height for use by an individual in a wheelchair.

-Concession stand is at an accessible height and all extra condiments such as salt or seasoning are located within reach from a seated position. See picture below.

 

Seating:

-The Galleria has 6 theaters and each has a slightly different seat arrangement. In general, there is seating available for visitors in a wheelchair however they are not always provided in a line of sight comparable to other viewers. In several theaters the only available seats are located directly in the front or the rear. In another theater, seats are available only directly in the middle.

-Companion seats are available in all theaters

-One of the theaters had armrests that could be moved out of the way for transfers however they were located in the stadium seats that were inaccessible.

-The other theaters did not provide aisle seating with no armrests.

 

Assistive Listening and Audio Systems:

-Assistive listening devices are available upon request.

-There are no Descriptive Video Service, Audio Description, or captioning service available

 

Restrooms:

-There is one accessible stall provided.

-There was no sign designating the location of the restrooms.

-Restroom signs provided adequate contrast and contained Braille but were positioned too high.

-There is an open area underneath the sink, allowing access to a seated patron.

-Automatic water and soap dispensers provide easy access for all.

-Paper towel dispenser was positioned at a height accessible from a seated position. In addition an automatic hand dryer was available for use and positioned at a slightly lower height.

-Grab bars were positioned on adjacent walls to allow easy transfer onto and off of toilet

 

Signs:

-Signs at the concession stand provided adequate contrast and were printed in large letters. Pictures were provided from some items on the menu.

-The general movie theater sign provides very poor contrast and there is poor signage leading to theater.

 

Drinking Fountains:

-There were two drinking fountains located in the theater; one for standing patrons and the other for persons in a wheelchair. See photo below.

-Drinking fountains may be operated with a closed fist.

 

Emergency Features:

-Exits were clearly labeled in the theater

-Fire alarms included flashing lights, as well as audible signals
